1. Introduction
Meddy ("we", "our", or "the app") is a family health management app designed with privacy as a core principle. This policy explains what information we access, how it is used, and your rights.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect, store, or have access to your personal health information. We have no servers that receive your medical records, appointments, metrics, photos, or documents. All health data you enter in Meddy exists exclusively in your personal iCloud account.
3. How Your Data is Stored
All app data — family member profiles, medical records, appointments, health metrics, and attachments — is stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit technology. This data is encrypted by Apple and accessible only through your Apple ID. We cannot read, access, or recover your data under any circumstances.
Data is shared across your personal devices via iCloud sync. Meddy's Today Widget reads appointment data from a shared on-device container (App Group) so your upcoming appointments can appear on your Home Screen and Lock Screen without a network request.
3.1 Permissions We Request
Calendar: To optionally add and manage appointments in your system Calendar app (Apple Calendar). We only write events you explicitly create in Meddy. We do not read your existing calendar events for any analytical purpose.
Camera & Photo Library: To attach photos to family member profiles and medical records. Photos you select or capture are stored in your iCloud account as part of the record they are attached to.
Notifications: To send you appointment reminders at times you configure. Reminder schedules are generated entirely on-device. We do not use push notification infrastructure that routes through our servers.
Face ID/ TouchID: To optionally lock the app behind biometric authentication. Biometric data never leaves your device and is handled exclusively by Apple's LocalAuthentication framework
You may revoke any of these permissions at any time in your device Settings. Revoking a permission only disables the associated feature; your data is not affected.
4. Third-Party Services
Our App integrates with third-party services:
Apple iCloud/CloudKit: For data storage and synchronization. Handles all data storage and sync. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy
Apple App Store: For app distribution and subscription management
RevenueCat: Processes subscription management and validates your purchase entitlements. RevenueCat may collect anonymized analytics related to subscription events (e.g., purchase, renewal, cancellation). It does not have access to your health data. Subject to RevenueCat's Privacy Policy
These services have their own privacy policies. We do not control how they handle your information.
5. Data Security
Your medical data security is protected by:
Apple's end-to-end encryption
Your device's biometric authentication (Face ID/Touch ID)
Apple ID security measures
iCloud's security infrastructure
No data transmission to our servers
We implement additional security measures for any non-medical data we may collect.
6. Data Retention
Your medical data remains in your iCloud account as long as you maintain your Apple ID
We do not retain copies of your medical information
Non-medical data we collect is retained only as long as necessary for App functionality such as language preference
You can delete the App at any time, and your data remains in your iCloud account
Because all data lives in your iCloud account, its security is governed by your Apple ID security settings. We strongly recommend enabling two-factor authentication on your Apple ID. We have no ability to recover your data if access to your Apple ID is lost.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
Access your medical data (stored in your iCloud account)
Delete your medical data (through iCloud settings)
Control who has access to your device and Apple ID
Opt out of analytics data collection (in device settings)
Cancel your subscription at any time
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the App. Changes are effective when posted.
